Our full service Breast Imaging Center at Rush North Shore offers digital mammograms read by board certified radiologists using computer-aided detection (CAD) to assist in analyzing mammograms. If the need arises, the Center has available a number of methods to clarify various breast conditions. Our staff makes every effort to accommodate our Breast Imaging patients.

 

The American Cancer Society believes these recommendations offer women the best opportunity for reducing the breast cancer death rate through early detection.

_ Clinical breast exams every three years

_ Yearly mammogram

_ Yearly breast exam by a healthcare professional

_ Monthly breast self exam

_ Women at increased risk should talk with their doctors about the benefits and limitations of starting mammograms when they are younger, having additional tests (such as breast ultrasound or MRI), or having more frequent exams.
